HUD Report Highlights Importance of Stable Housing for Public Health

President Biden’s administration releases health-action playbook.

The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) highlighted its many housing programs after President Biden’s administration released its action plan to improve social health. The document, called the U.S. Playbook to Address Social Determinants of Health, is intended to improve the set of lifestyle factors that statistically support better health for American citizens. The playbook notes stable housing is an important aspect of improved human health, advocating for the federal housing department to increase housing access for Americans.

“Housing is foundational to health and lifelong success. Today’s Playbook and suite of actions are important steps forward in our efforts to advance health equity,” said HUD Secretary Marcia Fudge. “HUD continues to work with our partners across the Administration and the country to coordinate the housing, health care, and supportive services that enable Americans to thrive.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For discernment for Secretary Fudge as she heads the Housing and Urban Development Department.
  • For HUD officials to seek God’s guidance as they implement the president’s housing policies.
  • For Americans who experience housing instability as winter approaches.
